Ust-Kamenogorsk Capacitor Plant built on the right riverside of Irtish River between Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydro-Electric Power Station and town its first capacitors produced in May 1959. During the past decades were constantly conducted works for technical re-equipment, reconstructions, development and increase of productive capacities, mastering of new products.

In 1962 for the first time in USSR was mastered production of complete capacitor banks.

Since 1985 all produced capacitors have been impregnated with ecologically safe fluids.

To the beginning of the 90-s annual output of PFC and furnace capacitors in terms of rated power was 40 million of kVAr.

List of foreign countries to which our products were delivered reached 25 and made productive capacities for PFC capacitors production allowed to take a leading place for output volumes of these capacitors not only in USSR but also all over the world.

According to Decree of East-Kazakhstan territorial committee for State property in 1992 state enterprise Ust-Kamenogorsk Capacitor Plant was changed into open joint stock company – OJSC “UKCP” (since Jun/2004 – JSC “UKCP).

High technical parameters, quality and reliability of Ust-Kamenogorsk capacitors are guaranteed by all-round investigations, tests and wide experience of production high level of which is confirmed by quality certificates. In 2002 JSC “UKCP” was accredited in RJSC “United Power Systems of Russia” as a manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment for RJSC and has Accreditation Certificate No. E - 6-080602 - 887.

By that time our factory opened representative office “Ust-Kamenogorsk Capacitor” in Moscow.

In 2005 JSC “UKCP” gained the Certificate of certification voluntary system “EnSERTIKO” to supply its products to the electric power engineering companies of Russia No. PR 0825020305 and Certificate of FSUE “Russian State Concern for electrical and heat energy production on nuclear stations of the “Rosenergoatom” Concern about accreditation and entering into the Register of potential suppliers of products (equipment, spare parts and materials) as a official supplier of “Rosenergoatom” Concern REA R series No. 0269 dd. 07.04.2005.

In 2004 with the purpose of improving technologies, automation of labour-intensive production processes our factory purchased high-tech complex “AMADA” of Japanese production that provides production of necessary articles in a short space of time and considerably expands possibilities of our factory.

The quality management system of JSC “UKCP” accredited by KEMA (The Netherlands) including the implementation meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2000.
